Sorry for the recent lack of upkeep;
I’m preparing a load of stuff for the next couple
of weeks…
Yes, I have received some correct answers
on the MYSTERY PHOTO,
but before the prize is awarded, you’ll have one more
week to take a guess…
And if you haven’t heard the
new holiday album by the band America, it’s great,
as is the new CD by The Hot Club Quartet. (Available by
visiting http://hotclubquartet.com/.)
As it is written on the site, "The Hot Club Quartette
celebrates the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli's
innovative Hot Club de France. The ensemble consists of
a violin, two guitars and a string bass. It specializes
in the music from the 30s and 40s , featuring well-known
and rare compositions by Django and Stephane and other composers."
Excellent, sophisticated listening.
I also recommend a terrific new book:
"Footsteps in the Fog – Alfred Hitchcock’s
San Francisco." Lovingly researched and featuring hundreds
of photos, it’s a landmark effort on the Bay Area
works of my favorite director. (It’s published by
Santa Monica Press, and you can check the book out at www.santamonicapress.com.)
Any way, check back soon for the big
unveiling.
Happy, warm, safe holidays to everyone…
