August 28, 2002 Huntington Beach
Welcome (or welcome back, as the case may
be.) I hope that "back to school" is going smoothly
for all of you that it pertains to. Hard to believe it's here
again...
Since this site launched last week, a bunch
of stuff has been added, particularly to the ESSAY
section (with a few other things in SIGNINGS
and PHOTOS.) More new
things are in the works…stay tuned…
And thanks for all the feedback thus far—it’s
great getting such immediate reaction; things I can begin factoring
in to the mix.
As well, from what I hear, the new Coliseum
book is continuing to arrive at stores throughout Southern California.
If you live outside the area (or even if you don’t, I suppose)
I know that Amazon.com seems to have it on sale again if you’re
interested.
Oh, and there’s also a new feature
I’m adding, something I plan on having every month or so.
A photo I’ve taken of an obscure historic landmark will
be posted on the site. All you’ll need to do is tell me
what the significance of the place is, based on the given hint.
Then, you’ll e-mail your guess and the first randomly chosen
correct answer will win a signed copy of my Los Angeles Memorial
Coliseum book (or Huntington Beach, if you prefer.) That should
be up and going next week.
Meantime, thanks again for stopping by. I
hope all is well with you. (And that next time you check in, that
baseball is not on strike.)
Quote of the week: "I think, therefore
I am… I think."
From the book "Asylum Earth", by the Artist, Charles
Bragg
