F.D.R. in HB

The year is 1936 and the President of the United States (then campaigning for his second
term) was a part of the city’s annual 4th of July Parade. (Thanks to my good friend, City
Historian Alicia Wentworth, for this.) F.D.R. can be seen in the middle of the photo in the
white Skimmer hat. His car was on traveling east on Main Street and this shot is right at
Pacific Coast Highway. (The pier would be immediately to the left of this.)
