Red Rock Canyon 1
The Mojave Desert contains an incredible area for fossil prospecting called Red Rock Canyon. We take an annual trip there in the fall with a band of other interested people and some paleontologists from the L.A. Museum of Natural History for about three days. This is a shot near where we camp. These sandstone spires have been seen in hundreds of movies, from westerns to sci-fi classics to the original “Mummy.”
